  • Make an Appointment | UCSF Radiology - Radiology Central Scheduling - (415) 353-2573 Most interventional imaging services and diagnostic exams can be scheduled within five business days. We make every effort to accommodate urgent requests within two days. In addition, we provide some imaging services on a walk-in basis. All procedures are performed Monday-Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please note that a written request (pdf) from your physician is required for all radiology procedures.
  • How to Refer a Patient | UCSF Radiology - Schedule an Appointment All orders from physicians outside UCSF start with a referral (please use our referral form) faxed to Fx (415) 353-7299. Once the fax has been sent to UCSF, please wait 15 minutes for your fax to be entered into our system, and then follow-up with a phone call to schedule the appointment at (415) 353-2573.   • Billing and Insurance | UCSF Radiology - UCSF Medical Center contracts with most major health insurance companies. Many insurance plans (including PPOs) require prior authorization for imaging services, and we understand that working with insurance and other benefits can be challenging.  That’s why our Radiology Billing and Insurance Department is happy to help with any insurance questions or problems.  Our staff will be able to assist you with any questions regarding authorization, price quote, procedure codes, statement, or billing.

  • Research Interest Groups | UCSF Radiology - Research Interest Groups (RIGs) bring together departmental PhD and MD research and clinical faculty, as well as trainees across our campuses into synergized research groups. They provide a structure for PhD faculty akin to Clinical Sections for purposes of improving departmental visibility and connection. Each are typically led by a PhD Director and MD Co-Director, who collectively (with their SRG colleagues) form an Executive Research Council.
  • Specialized Resource Groups | UCSF Radiology - Specialized Resource Groups (SRGs) bring together departmental PhD and MD research and clinical faculty, who do technique development. Each are typically led by either a PhD or MD Director, who collectively (with their RIG colleagues) form an Executive Research Council.
