level1diagnostics.com Review:

Level 1 Diagnostics - Level 1 Diagnostics is based on Dr. Steven Helschien’s dedication to preventive medicine and his theory that most of medicine is set up so that health professionals are like life guards and try to save patients who are drowning, rather than teaching them to swim. His new Level 1 testing is the most comprehensive and earliest cardiovascular testing available. This is how it compares to the other three levels of testing.

  • http://level1diagnostics.com/testing/limited-carotid-ultrasound-with-imt/ Limited Carotid Ultrasound With HeartSmart IMTplus® - Level 1 Diagnostics - HeartSmart IMTplus™ testing is based on ultrasound diagnostic technology to measure the intima media thickness (IMT) of the carotid artery (the inner linings of the vascular wall). Recommended by the American Heart Association, the HeartSmart IMTplus™ proprietary technology detects the thickness of plaque buildup on the intima-media surface of the carotid artery using a portable ultrasound unit. HeartSmart IMTplus™ software is calibrated to 1/1000th of a millimeter and carefully compares the individual’s intimamedia thickness to the results derived from the company’s proprietary database of over 40,000 previously scanned patients with sequential screenings containing over one million data point
  • http://level1diagnostics.com/sleep/ Sleep - Level 1 Diagnostics - There is growing research that cardiovascular disease and sleep are in bed together, according to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Mayo Clinic, Harvard Medical School, The American Heart Association and other renowned research institutions.
  • http://level1diagnostics.com/testing/multifunctional-cardiogram/ Multifunctional CardioGram - Level 1 Diagnostics - As technology advances, new and improved methods of diagnosing human ailments are developed and created. When this happens the original technologies are discarded in favor of the better diagnostic tool. The development of the Multifunction CardioGram is an excellent example of this process.
  • http://level1diagnostics.com/testing/ Endo-PAT - Level 1 Diagnostics - Endo-PAT is based on noninvasive Peripheral Arterial Tone (PAT) signal technology. It measures endothelium-mediated changes in vascular tone using unique bio-sensors placed on the fingertips. These changes in arterial tone are elicited by creating a down-stream hyperemic response induced by a standard 5-minute occlusion of the feeding artery (using a standard blood pressure cuff on the patient’s least dominant arm). When the cuff is released, the surge of blood flow causes an endothelium dependent Flow Mediated Dilatation (FMD).The dilatation, manifested as Reactive Hyperemia, is captured by Endo-PAT as an increase in the PAT Signal amplitude. A post-occlusion to pre-occlusion ratio is automatically calculated by the Endo-PAT software, providing the Endo-PAT index. Measurements from the contra-lateral arm are used to control for concurrent nonendothelial dependent changes in vascular tone. Endo-PAT tests can be carried out in the office, with patients positioned either sitting or supine. The test takes 15 minutes to complete, is very easy to perform, and is both operator and interpreter independent. Thermo-neutral, quiet surroundings are recommended.
  • http://level1diagnostics.com/home/sensicardiac/ SensiCardiac - Level 1 Diagnostics - Level 1 Diagnostics’ electronic stethoscope, Sensi, identifies and classifies suspected heart murmurs. Sensi has redefined what the stethoscope can do.
  • http://level1diagnostics.com/testing/blood-pressure/ Blood Pressure - Level 1 Diagnostics - High blood pressure is often called the silent killer because it has no outward symptoms. Not only is it related to hardening of the arteries, it may also be the cause of atherosclerosis or may hasten its progression.
  • http://level1diagnostics.com/testing/heart-rate/ Heart Rate - Level 1 Diagnostics - Your heart rate is the number of times your heart beats in a minute. 50-80 beats per minute is considered optimal. Measuring the pulse can give very important information about your health. Any change from normal heart rate can indicate a medical condition.
  • http://level1diagnostics.com/home/body-fat-measurement-with-bmi/ Body Fat Measurement With BMI - Level 1 Diagnostics - Body Mass Index (BMI) and/or Body Fat Measurement. Body composition can have a direct impact on your health, athletic performance, and even your life expectancy. Excess body fat is a major risk factor for heart attack and stroke. The National Institute of Health (NIH) states: “Evidence is now overwhelming that obesity, the excess storage of fat, has adverse effects on health and longevity.”
  • http://level1diagnostics.com/testing/indirect-calorimetry/ Indirect Calorimetry - Level 1 Diagnostics - Indirect Calorimetry measures the oxygen that the body uses and determines resting metabolic rate, which establishes the precise caloric intake required for weight loss. Knowing the results helps with the management of obesity, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, hypothyroidism, hyperthyroidism, hypertension, cardiovascular disease and sleep apnea.
  • http://level1diagnostics.com/testing/pulse-oximetry/ Pulse Oximetry - Level 1 Diagnostics - Pulse oximetry measures the amount of oxygen in the blood, through a finger clip test and infrared light. Oxygenated blood absorbs infrared light and allows red light to pass through. Deoxygenated blood absorbs red light and allows infrared light to pass through. A range of 96% to 100% oxygen in the blood is generally considered normal. Anything below 90% could quickly lead to lifethreatening complications. Knowing this is very useful for patients with respiratory and/or cardiac problems, especially those with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

  • Banana - I took the GRE twice and had almost identical scores ...

I took the GRE twice and had almost identical scores. If my memory served me right, I did not encounter any questions on the test that this book had. My advice to anyone preparing for GRE is to use actual math books.

  • Ray Graham - A Mat for Every Workbench

This is an excellent cutting mat that is very self-healing. I keep it on my workbench, and it has been impervious to many different kinds of spills and spatters. The measuring increments marked on the mat make square cuts very easy and quick. It has protected my workbench from many accidental knife and exacto-knife cuts. Even with heavy pressure I have not cut all the way through the mat. Even if you are not a crafter, I recommend this for any workbench.

  • Amazon Customer - Great resource for the SAT II Biology exam

As a professional Biology tutor who has tutored over 20 students for the SAT II Biology exam, I highly recommend this book. Yes, it can be dense. Yes, the questions are difficult. However, the book has good explanations for the practice tests in the back of the book. I find the questions to be challenging but fair, and more accurate than the other options available. More importantly, the information presented in the book is more accurate than any of the other books that I have worked with (including Barron's and Princeton Review). There are a couple errors here and there that I have found (for example, one diagram shows human cells as tetraploid after DNA replication which is just wrong), but I have found many more mistakes in other books.
